Preview: Devils at Penguins

The 2nd night of back-to-backs brings in the hated New Jersey Devils. Though I guess they're like 3rd on the list. And how can you hate that plush-toy of a goalie?

Opponent Notes
New Jersey is coming in poised and ready to take on a tired Penguins team. Marty Brodeur has been his normal hall-of-fame self, and the Devils find themselves sitting 3rd in the Atlantic with 10 points (which is good enough for 6th in the conference.

For the Devils, Zach Parise is doing his thing, dominating on the Powerplay and earning me some good fantasy points. What is somewhat more surprising is that 800-year-old Rob Neidermayer is tied for 3rd on the team in scoring, AND a +3. Of course, the season is still young.

Still, the potential is there for the Penguins to treat Marty Brodeur as a rented mule. He has played all 8 games this season, so he may be a little tired, especially after earning a win against the impressive Rangers, who managed 31 shots against the aging goaltender.

The Penguins managed a win against the Panthers last night, though they should have has a much better game. Tomas Vokoun really showed up and just made some great saves. But you can bet that if the Penguins try that tonight against the Devils, they'll have a little more difficult time rallying for the win, as the Devils are a much more complete team than the Panthers.

Of course, that's not to say that the Devils will come in and perform well. They have had a day off, of course, but that could do more to slow them, as the young Penguins team can still perform well on back to back games.

But really...you can't really expect the Penguins to lose with how they're playing on this streak.

Predictions
My Prediction: Like I said, you just can't go against this team right now. Pens win, 3-1
Mr Mystic Says: Pens win, 5-2

Records (Correct-Wrong(Correct Score))
TH: 6-3(0)
MM: 7-2(1)
