The Game's Three Stars
1)Jordan Staal
2)Matt Cooke
3)Deryk Engellend
Thoughts on the Game
-Nate Guenin in his Penguins Debut was invisible. Good thing for a player like him
-Who would think the Pens would be able to win without all their Offensive Defensmen?
-Jordan Staal with more flashes of brilliance...how long until he breaks out and becomes Mark Messier?
-Better win than the one against Boston
-Teemu Selanne is still a beast
-Steigerwald actually contributed an interesting fact: The Pens could have had Selanne, but opted to draft Darryl Shannon. Imagine, if you will, Selanne on Mario's wing
-Sad how J-S Giguere has fallen. Reminds me of Roman Cechmanek, but I think Giguere can still rebound
-Wilkes-Barre may need a new coach if the Penguins keep bringing up minor leaguers who look comfortable at the NHL level
-Better to suffer injury early in the season than during the playoff push
-The trapezoid sucks. Just make the goalie fair game to check when outside of the crease or the trapezoid. That'll make the game more interesting
-Finally, the Penguins are really streaky.
Hero of the (Technically Hockey) State: George Parros' mustache makes me jealous. And he's practically from Pittsburgh.
