Opponent Notes
The Sharks have had a start comparable to that of the Penguins, despite Evgeni Nabokov being off to a slow start. Patrick Marleau is currently leading the team in scoring, with Joe Thornton and newly aquired Dany Heatly nipping at his heels.
The Sharks could potentially regain the services of Joe Pavelski for tonights game. Pavelski has been injured since the second game of the season. If he should return, he will be just another offensive threat the Penguins will need to find a way to contain on a team loaded with them.
Defensively, the Sharks are very human, as not only is their core of defensive players young (except for the immortal and -4 Rob Blake), but also hovering (for the most part) right around a +/- of 0. However, it's worth pointing out that most of their defensmen are performing well offensively. In fact, of the expected defensive starters for the Sharks tonight, not one has less than four points on the season.
While Evgeni Nabokov started slow, he has begun to regain his form and should be solid in net tonight, as I can't imagine Thomas Greiss will get the start against the defending Cup champions.
Predictions
My Prediction: The Sharks are good, but I dont think the Pens are ready to lose 2 in a row yet. Pens win 6-3
Mr Mystic says: Pens win, 7-5
Records (Correct-Wrong(Correct Score))
