Olli Jokinen and Brandond Prust recently got new addresses, as the Calgary Flames sent them east in exchange for Ales Kotalik and Christopher Higgins. While it seems odd that the Flames would trade a Prust for a butler, these NHL GMs are savvy.
I had this great idea pull out some of Jokinen's whining about being traded, then how he realized it was all part of the game, but most of the quotes I wanted to use are mysteriously gone.
Clearly, Jokinen had these quotes..."taken out." Where else could they have gone? Hockey oblivion? Probably, but that doesn't make for a good story. What reall happened was probably something like this:
*A Phone Rings*
Receptionist: Hello? NHL.com offices.
Olli Jokinen: You don't know me, but I am...erm, a big fan of Olli Jokinen. You better take down those-
Receptionist: Olli Jokinen doesn't work here, he plays for the Flames.
Jokinen: HE PLAYS FOR THE RANGERS!
Receptionist: No, sir. I'm afraid he...oh I guess he has recently been traded, my apologies sir.
Jokinen: OF COURSE HE DOES! ...look, just take down the quotes he said that-
Receptionist: We aren't a newspaper, either, Sir.
Jokinen: You're clearly not an intelligent one. Can I talk to the head of web content or whatever it's called?
Receptionist: I'm sorry, sir. But you'll just have to-
Jokinen: FINE! THEN JUST TELL HIM TO TAKE DOWN THE QUOTES THAT MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A WHINEY BITCH OR SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN!
*Jokinen types something into a computer and sends it*
*At the NHL Offices, Brandon Prust knocks on the window*
Receptionist: OH MY GOD! I'LL DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! JUST DON'T LET HIM ATTACK ME!
Jokinen: then take down the quotes.
Receptionist WHAT QUOTES?!
Jokinen: Quit screaming, it's annoying. The quotes by Olli Jokinen. About his trade to the Rangers.
Receptionist: Fine! fine...just make him go away!
*Jokinen types another message and sends it*
*Prust checks his cell phone*
Prust: Shit! I was all hard and ready to fight! Now I've got fighting blueballs...
Prust: Ahhhhhh...all better.
