Preview: Panthers at Penguins

The Penguins will play the first of back to back game nights tonight at 7:30, as the struggling Florida Panthers invade the Mellon.

Opponent Notes
The Panthers appear to be doing the normal "Suck early in the season, vie for a playoff spot come march" thing. The have looked less than stellar, to be kind, this season. After all, when someone in second place on the team in scoring is a -5 (Ahem, Stephen Weiss), you know there's some issues.

The Panther's goaltending has been very forgettable. I wanted to say something witty, but the only even slightly bright spot is that Tomas Vokoun' ssave percentage is over .900 (but it's only .904). They don't have a goaltender on the roster that has under a 3.50 goals against, and with how the Penguins are playing, it'll be a disaster if they can't get better play from their goaltenders.

The Penguins, however, have an interesting storyline in this one. They refused to switch up who was and was not playing because the team was doing so well, but with the loss of Sergei Gonchar for a month, Martin Skoula will get to don the Penguins jersey for his first game.

A secondary story worth following is both Crosby and Malkin lacking a huge game so far in the season. Malkin is 14th in the point race, Crosby isn't even in the top 30. I think the third line is taking all of their points.

Really expecting a big night from the Pens.

Predictions
My Prediction: Penguins have a big night, 8-2 Pens win.
Mr Mystic Says: Cards say the Panthers, I say 4-3. Flordia wins.

Records (Correct-Wrong(Correct Score))
TH: 5-3(0)
MM: 7-1(1)
