Preview: Penguins at Islanders

10/3/2009 - One day after the Penguins win their home opener and raised their championship banner, they travel to Long Island to face the bottom-feeding Islanders.

Opponent Notes
As I said in my recap of last night's game, I'm excited to see what John Tavares can do. I'm really thinking he'll be more of a Vinny Lecavalier than another Sidney Crosby. Kyle Okposo will breakout this year, as well. You hear it here first. Or at some point, anyway.

Garth Snow went out of his way this summer to make sure his goalkeeping is healthier than last season. I have some concerns with age. If RickyD's hips isn't vaporized, Dwayne "The Main Brain" Rolosson's should be by the end of the season.

The Islander's top line (Tavares, Doug Weight, Okposo) could be scary, but, in case your fantasy hockey draft didn't tell you, There's not much to the team past that.

Predictions
I want to start by introducing a friend of mine who we will refer to as Mr. Mystic. He thinks he can predict the future using playing cards. I, on the other hand, think I know my stuff about hockey. We'll be trying an experiment this season, Where I will try and predict a winner, as will Mr. Mystic.

My prediction: Pens win, 3-1
Mr Mystic Says: Pens win, 5-2
