The Penguins again get routed by the Devils, losing 4-1
The Game's Three Stars
1)Niclas Bergfors
2)Travis Zajac
3)Zach Parise
Thoughts on the Game
-Finally, a goal!
-Everyone seems to be shaken by this losing streak
-Martin Skoula hit a post early in the game, and Chris Bourque missed a wide open net. Very demoralizing
-Even more demoralizing: NJ's go-ahead goal was directed in by Ben Lovejoy. I say kicking motion, and no goal!
-I'm allowed to dream
-Also, I'm officially on the 'Chris Bourque isn't ready for the NHL' Bandwagon.
-Godard only got 3:26 ice time yesterday. Chris Connor only 5:36
-Chris Kunitz and Bill Guerin need to practice with each other more. That tick tack play early on was really one pass too many
-Matt Cooke is not top line material. I want to see a Cooke-Rupp-Godard line start a game
-Pens get another shot at Boston tomorrow. Word is Malkin may be back
-Finally, Are the Devils really that good? Or are the Penguins just playing that badly?
Enemy of the (Penguins') State: Near Misses. How many shots his the crossbar or the posts or missed a wide open net last night? It could easily have been 3-0 after the first period with just a little better luck
