Going Retro

In case you didn't know, the Devils are changing things up a little bit tonight. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, they're going retro and wearing the same style of jerseys they wore when they game into the league. This is a great move.

Some thoughts:
I really have always preferred this jersey. While I'm not a Devils fan by any stretch (though they're not really on the most hated list anymore), it's really nice to see a team using a color other than black, and I'll take it when I can.

It's become a bit of a trend for teams to wear black or red. A quick look at the NHL teams, and you'll see this trend. Though a couple of teams have actually reversed decisions since.

Still this is a frustrating trend. If there's one thing that people should want to see, its more colorful jerseys and less jerseys the same color as the puck.

Anyway, I'll be sure to find some way to enjoy this game and you should too. The Penguins will need all the help they can get if they want to prevent losing every game against the Devils this season.
