Capitals trade Captain for Mythical Beast

If you haven't heard already, you must be living under a rock. Or somewhere that it's harder to get hockey coverage than here.

The Capitals, apparently trying to shake up their lineup, traded Chris Clark (their captain) and a prospect some jobber for Jason the Chimera.

Let's do some analysis, shall we?

The Blue Jackets get Chris Clark, a good leader having an underwhelming season:

and some guy:

Really, Milan Jurcina ("Some Guy") is just a depth signing. Probably won't play much in the NHL. Chris Clark is a good leader, having been the captain of the capitals. And while he doesn't have spectacular numbers, he's a capable third liner.

The Capitals get:

Jason the Chimera

Jason the Chimera is, of course, a maneater. What a monster.

When they learned of the trade, some of the Capitals players were not happy.
The following are some reactions from the players that probably never happened:

Alex Semin quipped, "What's changed? He still plays for BJ's"

Alex Ovechkin was heard mumbling, "Now where wills I gets my CCs? Ovie's motorbike won't never work again."

Alex Giroux added "Why are you interviewing me? Did you really need a third alex so badly that you went with me?"

Either way, this is one of those trades you really don't care about. Now if the Flyers went out and signed Ogie Ogilthorpe, we might have a story, what with the Winter Classic coming up.
