Selanne hits a Milestone

For those of you who are out of the loop, Teemu Selanne scored a goal last night. It was the 21st goal of the season for the all-time leading scorer in olympic history. And with that goal he's joined one of the most elite groups of hockey players to ever play the game.

Make the jump to see what it was

Now I can't lie about this: Selanne has long been one of my favorite players. And despite my outspoken position that old players retire, I always said to myself, "except Teemu Selanne, who can still perform better than half of the Philadelphia Flyers."

While it's great to see Selanne reach this milestone, something only 17 other players have done in NHL history, it's a bit bittersweet. While I'm psyched to see him reach this milestone, it likely means this is Selanne's last NHL season. And yet another former member of the Winnipeg Jets steps into the background.

Not to get terribly off topic, but why is Gary Bettman to adamant that the Coyotes not leave Phoenix? He's the one who let Winnipeg go to Phoenix. I don't understand that guy.

Anyway, it's great to see Teemu Selanne get this milestone in his career, and it's a true testament to his skill as a hockey player.

So have a drink for Teemu, unless you an alcoholic. Then just write him a congratulatory letter.
